~ upcoming events and the force behind them~

This Friday marks the 4Th opening I will have hosted at Stylus in Belltown. Working with the Stylus team has been very inspiring, and has offered me the chance to work with a huge space ~ Something I haven't done since I worked at the Anderson Gallery in college! It takes at least 40-50 works of art to fill the 2-floor venue, meaning each show involves multiple artists. The challenge of curating a cohesive, pleasing exhibit is ongoing and very fulfilling when accomplished. I have much to learn of course, but this is a dream come true for any curator!

The show will feature Devon Kelley-Yurdin from Brooklyn, NY, who came my way via another Brooklyn artist, Jen May. (Jen showed her work in a textile exhibit that I hosted with Cybele Phillips at Last Waltz Boutique earlier this year...Thank you Jen for the networking!:)

Having an artist from NY is exciting because it means that Ghost Gallery is starting to reach out across the country, pulling in new viewers for artists, and providing fresh work for the public to admire. There will be artists from all OVER participating in the Miniature Art Extravaganza, and I can't believe the response so far...Vegas, Colorado, Texas, Chicago, Montreal, Atlanta, New York...

On a more personal note, this past year has been an extremely tragic one, with certain recent events forcing me to pull back and sacrifice some of the energy I normally would be using for Ghost. However despite this, I have been able to continue working, even feeling a huge therapeutic release in doing so. I deeply miss my Grandmother who has passed, and I owe my stamina and determination to her...
The Miniature Art party is my 2-year anniversary in business, and I want to use it as a HUGE "THANK YOU" to everyone who is participating, everyone who has been there for me personally during hard times & grief, and also as a celebration of continuity and revival for the new year...
